Advancing Research on Democracy & Election Management

As part of India’s Chairship of the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) Council of Member States (2026), a series of academic initiatives are being launched under the theme: “Democracy for an Inclusive, Peaceful, Resilient and Sustainable World.”

These initiatives are designed to deepen research, foster academic collaboration, and enhance student engagement in the field of democracy and election management.

Opportunities include:

* International Academic Conference on Democracy and Election Management
(18–19 June 2026, New Delhi)
Call for abstracts open to faculty members and research scholars.

* Student Connect – Research Challenge
A dynamic competition for undergraduate and postgraduate students focusing on comparative electoral systems and innovative electoral practices.

* IIIDEM Academic Outreach Programme
One-day immersive academic visits to the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management campus, offering direct interaction with election practitioners.
