Celebrating Inscription of Deepavali in UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage | 19.12.2025

The High Commission of India proudly celebrated “Deepotsav” at the Chancery to mark the inscription of Deepavali in UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This historic recognition gives global acknowledgment to India’s rich cultural traditions and shared heritage of humanity.

High Commissioner Shri Manish Gupta, in his remarks, highlighted the profound global cultural significance of Deepavali and its message of light, hope, and unity.
The celebration featured the lighting of diyas by the High Commissioner and members of the Indian diaspora, honouring India’s enduring cultural heritage.
